Definitions
Dependent: child, step-child, or child under guardianship that is listed as such on page 1 of the employee’s 1040 or birth certificate with employee named as parentEmployee: Any person employed by Sazerac, Crescent Crown, or Goldring Gulf Distributing.Tuition paying school: Any place of learning Pre-K through post graduate degree, where the student is seeking a degree. This includes trade schools.Qualifications: To receive a scholarship, the dependent student must be enrolled full-time and maintain at least a 2.5 gpa each semester.
Enrolled Full-time: In most cases for undergraduate degrees this is 12 hours. However we do take into consideration trimesters and graduate degrees may have different full-time definition. Pre-K through 12th grade students are considered enrolled full-time. Proof of full-time enrollment will vary by school. You may provide a letter from the school, or a screen shot from your student portal that shows your name and school and hours.Probation period: a student that does not make a 2.5 in the prior semester is put on probation for one semester until the student makes the required 2.5 gpa. Scholarship installments are not paid during the probation period.

Go to GMWScholarships.com. Create a family account on our scholarship portal. Enter each child in the family. Upload the 1040 or birth certificate, evidence of full-time enrollment, and grades from previous semester. 12th grade students must provide gpa as of graduation when applying for the first semester at college. Pre-K through 8th grade students do not need to provide grades unless we make a specific request.How much is the scholarship award?
The total award is $8,000. It is paid in two installments, in fall $4,000 and in spring $4,000. In order to qualify for the spring semester, each student must provide grades from fall semester and proof of full-time status for spring semester by the January 5th deadline.
How many times can I apply?
There is no limit to the amount of times you can apply. We would like each child to apply every school year beginning at Pre-K. Each dependent is awarded up to 8 semesters of awards per learning level. This can be 8 semesters in high school, 8 semesters in college and 8 semesters post graduate. Parent must be currently employed for student to begin funding in any learning level.When do I apply?
For the fall semester, apply by July 1st. For the spring semester, you must provide your spring schedule and fall grades by January 5th to receive the second installment of the scholarship.What if I don’t make a 2.5?
A student not making the minimum gpa will be put on probation and not eligible to receive a scholarship for the following semester. Once the student makes the 2.5 or higher, he/she may apply again.How do I get my scholarship reward?
Reward checks are made payable to both the school and the student. The checks are mailed to the employee’s home address.
